In April of 2023, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Kenya with dōTERRA’s Healing Hands Foundation, and it was truly a life-changing experience. As an avid supporter of the foundation’s mission to improve lives through partnerships and sustainable initiatives, I was thrilled to witness firsthand the impact that the organization has on farmers, schools, and communities in the region. In this blog post, I want to share my journey and express my gratitude for the inspiring work that dōTERRA’s Healing Hands Foundation is doing in Kenya, and around the world.
dōTERRA’s Healing Hands Foundation has made a significant impact on the farmers, schools, and communities of Kenya. Through the Co-Impact Sourcing initiative, the foundation creates long-term partners with small-acre local farmers to ensure that the highest-quality essential oils are produced sustainably and ethically. By working directly with the farmers and offering fair prices for their products, the foundation helps to improve their quality of life and support their families as well as assisting in better labor conditions. In addition, dōTERRA’s Healing Hands Foundation has also invested in training programs and equipment for farmers, which has helped to increase yields and improve the overall quality of the products and quality of life.
Healing Hands is also committed to supporting schools and education in Kenya. During my trip, I had the opportunity to visit several schools that have benefited from the foundation’s initiatives. One was the generous and beautiful Mwamose Primary School. These schools now have access to clean water, improved sanitation facilities, and new classroom equipment and supplies along with a library and other buildings to support their ever growing enrollments. Mwamose humbled me. The dedication to the children’s education was astonishing. With over 1,000 students and only around 20 teachers, they create miracles. The foundation also offers training programs for teachers and support their professional development. As a result, students in these schools are receiving a higher-quality education, which will help to improve their future!
During my trip to Kenya, I saw firsthand the incredible impact that dōTERRA’s essential oils have on the lives of both the farmers who grow the plants and the consumers who use the oils. As a result, I have decided to only use dōTERRA’s essential oils in my personal life. In addition, the foundation has supported disaster relief efforts around the world, including providing essential oils and other supplies to those affected by natural disasters. Healing Hands supports clean water and sanitation initiatives, which are critical for improving health outcomes in communities around the world and so many more!
